Role

Town & Country Resources Limited acted as planning advisor to the client and project architect. This entailed:

  • providing strategic planning guidance on how best to achieve the clients’ and project architect’s vision for the site which presents issues of re-use of vacant and historic buildings; the insertion of new build elements within an historic context and in an area of high scenic amenity. The planning approach sought to emphasise the sustainability and environmental credentials of the project, which include the use of pre-fabricated timber frame construction made in Ireland from locally sourced wood.
  • Dianne McDonogh managed the planning aspects of the proposal, including management of consultations with key stakeholders and statutory consultees; co-ordination and preparation of the planning application documents and lodgement of same with Waterford County Council.

Planning Outcome

Waterford County Council issued a Final Grant of Permission for the project in November 2022; construction of the project has commenced and is ongoing.
